About the Practice
An established private medical practice in the southeastern suburbs of the Chicago area is seeking a permanent Anesthesiologist to provide specialized pediatric anesthesia care for outpatient procedures. Focused 100% on Pediatric cases (Healthy Peds only), the practice operates in a modern, kid-friendly clinical setting designed for optimal efficiency and pediatric comfort. Working alongside an experienced surgical and nursing support staff, the physician will direct high-quality, solo anesthesia care in a streamlined daily setting.

Key Responsibilities
Provide solo, direct general anesthesia and procedural sedation for 100% pediatric cases (7 to 8 cases per day).
Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic risk assessments, airway evaluations, and pediatric health history reviews for healthy children (Healthy Peds).
Monitor intraoperative vital signs, depth of anesthesia, and physiological parameters autonomously during pediatric surgical procedures.
Oversee immediate post-anesthesia recovery (PACU) care and evaluate discharge readiness for pediatric patients.
Maintain complete, compliant Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation for all clinical encounters.
Collaborate effectively with pediatric surgeons, procedural specialists, and clinical support teams.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program (Pediatric fellowship is not explicitly required, but strong experience managing healthy peds is essential).
Demonstrated clinical proficiency in pediatric airway management and procedural sedation for healthy pediatric patients.
Active, unrestricted Illinois Medical License (or eligible to obtain prior to start).
Active Federal DEA registration and Illinois Controlled Substances registration.
Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
Physician must carry/cover their own professional liability (malpractice) insurance.
