Role Overview
We are hiring a Mental Health Therapist to provide comprehensive behavioral health services within an institutional/detention setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate, confidential, and timely mental health care.
Responsibilities
Conduct mental health screenings, assessments, and clinical interviews
Review clinical records and identify mental health needs
Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans
Provide individual counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention
Support individuals experiencing emotional or behavioral health concerns
Provide de-escalation and intervention during mental health emergencies
Monitor and assess changes in mental health status and functioning
Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
Communicate appropriately with security and other facility staff regarding mental health concerns
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable clinical standards
Support continuity of care and appropriate follow-up for assigned individuals
Compensation
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000+ annually, negotiable based on experience
Relocation: Full relocation package available

Requirements
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution
Current, unrestricted LPCC or LCSW license in the State of California
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
Must be at least 21 years of age
Strong clinical assessment, counseling, and crisis-intervention skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a structured environment
Ability to respond appropriately to mental health emergencies and crisis situations
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a correctional, detention, institutional, or residential setting
Experience working with individuals experiencing behavioral health or psychiatric concerns
Experience with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral health treatment
Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical team
