Responsibilities

• Administer and precisely manage monitored anesthesia care (MAC) or minimal general anesthesia for scheduled outpatient adult ophthalmic interventions.

• Conduct focused, day-of-surgery pre-anesthetic assessments to verify optimal patient readiness and safe compliance for an ambulatory setting.

• Maintain complete, standalone clinical autonomy over the sedation workspace, ensuring continuous hemodynamic tracking and vigilant airway management.

• Monitor safe post-sedation emergence and oversee the clinical recovery bay to ensure smooth, efficient, and well-timed patient discharges.

• Complete detailed, accurate, and timely electronic anesthesia charts and clinical records immediately following the conclusion of each procedure.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
