About the Clinician's Workday
Clinicians in this role will provide anesthesia services under a physician supervision model during day shifts at an operating room facility in Missouri. The schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts per week, with no call coverage required for this locum tenens assignment. The anesthesia team operates under a staffing model of 3.5 MDs and 7 CRNAs, with the supervising MD providing 75% hands-on involvement. Board certification is required for all clinicians in this role. This position offers a broad mix of cases, including general surgery, robotic bariatrics, thoracic, GYN, urology, ENT, orthopedics, spine, podiatry, cataracts, GI, pulmonary procedures (bronchoscopies/EBUS), OB (C-sections and epidurals), and healthy pediatric dental and ENT cases for children older than 6 months. Additional opportunities may include MRI suite coverage and future EP cases in the cath lab. CRNAs serving as the charge provider will manage the daily schedule, evaluate pre-op patients, provide OR support and breaks, perform nerve blocks and labor epidurals, assist with occasional ICU procedures, and address PACU issues. When not assigned as the charge provider, CRNAs will work independently in their own OR rooms, so strong autonomous practice skills are required.
