Interim OR Nurse Manager – Operating Room

We are seeking an experienced Interim Nurse Manager – Operating Room for a 13-week leadership assignment in Owosso, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced perioperative RN leader who can step into an established surgical services department and provide strong clinical and operational leadership.

The Nurse Manager will have 24-hour responsibility for the department, including oversight of nursing personnel, staffing, patient care, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, employee development, and day-to-day OR operations.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Operating Room
Manage staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and employee performance
Support safe, high-quality perioperative patient care
Mentor, coach, and develop clinical staff and coordinators
Oversee staff education, orientation, competencies, and certification requirements
Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Participate in nursing leadership and organizational committees
Monitor departmental productivity and budget goals
Conduct staff meetings, performance evaluations, and daily rounding
Collaborate closely with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams

Required Qualifications

Active Michigan RN license in hand
Minimum 5 years of RN experience
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
At least 1 year of nursing supervisory experience in an acute care setting within the past 2 years
Current CNOR certification
Current BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association
Strong perioperative leadership, staffing, communication, and problem-solving skills

Previous Nurse Manager or OR management experience is highly preferred.
