Anesthesiologist – General Anesthesia
Qualifications / Job Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited college of medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX certification (as applicable)
  • Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency
  • Current and unrestricted physician license (Virginia license required or willingness to obtain)
  • Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology preferred
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience in anesthesia practice (general anesthesia experience preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Provide medical management for patients rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia evaluation, patient consent verification, and discussion of anesthetic options and risks
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia for general anesthesia cases
  • Continuous intraoperative physiologic monitoring and timely clinical interventions
  • Assist in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department
  • Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs and perioperative staff (MD supervision model)
