Job Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible considered)
- Completion of an ACGME-approved Residency in Anesthesiology
- Current Virginia medical license or eligibility to obtain a Virginia license
- ECFMG / FLEX certification if applicable for IMG candidates
- Minimum 1 year of clinical anesthesia experience; prior locum tenens or community hospital experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative anesthetic care for general surgery, orthopedic cases, and obstetric patients
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, obtain/verify informed consent, and develop individualized anesthetic plans
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia with continuous physiologic monitoring
- Manage obstetric anesthesia including labor analgesia and cesarean deliveries as needed
- Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs, coordinate workflows in multiple ORs, and direct departmental activities when assigned
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with surgical teams
