Job Details
- Location: Detroit, MI - Level 1 Trauma Center (hospital-based anesthesia, OR and perioperative care)
- Employment Type: Locum tenens / Travel CRNA
- Start Date: Asap
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Variable day shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours); no call, no weekends
- Hours per Week: 36
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of CRNA clinical experience (new graduates not accepted)
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – NBCRNA certification required
- Active Michigan RN license (must be in hand at time of application)
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Clean malpractice and license history
- Willingness to work variable day shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours)
Responsibilities
- Provide hospital-based anesthesia care for a variety of inpatient surgical procedures, including general surgery, neurosurgery, and deep sedation/MAC
- Serve as an anesthesia provider in the operating room (OR) and trauma settings, collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff
- Perform preoperative assessments, informed consent discussions, and patient education
- Administer anesthetics safely, monitor patients throughout procedures, and manage ventilation and airway care
- Oversee and assist with physician-administered regional anesthesia as needed and coordinate anesthetic plans
- Respond to patient emergencies and trauma activations in coordination with the multidisciplinary team
- Document anesthesia care accurately in Epic EMR and maintain thorough perioperative records
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and adherence to hospital anesthesia protocols
