Job Details
- Position: Locum Tenens CRNA / Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (travel CRNA)
- Location: Syracuse, NY
- Assignment Duration: Asap-ongoing
- Shift Options: 12-hour days preferred; 8-hour and 10-hour shifts available (all shifts start at 7:00 AM)
- Hours Per Week: 36
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of CRNA experience required (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist)
- Current license as a registered professional nurse (state RN license)
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program (COA or predecessor)
- Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- Ability to cross-credential at Specialists One Day Surgery Center
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide general anesthesia and anesthetic care across multiple surgical specialties as a travel CRNA in OR, ambulatory surgery centers, physician office procedures, and labor & delivery units
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain/verify informed consent
- Discuss anesthetic options, risks, and perioperative plans with patients and surgical teams
- Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia; monitor physiologic status throughout procedures
- Initiate and perform clinical interventions as needed to maintain patient safety
- Supervise anesthesia care when required (supervision ratio up to 1:3)
- Provide in-house OB call as preferred and available
- Complete paper charting with pre- and post-op orders entered in the computer system
