Description

Locum tenens cardiologist needed in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to provide inpatient service coverage and cardiac imaging reads.

The role includes rounding, consults, TEEs, cardioversions, perioperative TEEs, and documentation.

Imaging and diagnostic responsibilities may include stress testing (proctoring occasionally), EKGs, monitoring, echocardiography, nuclear studies, and cardiac MRI.

Advanced practice support is available, with a PA-C in the morning most days and additional NP/PA coverage on the service.

Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on-site with call from 5:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.; at least one weekend tied to the coverage week; call at least 5 days during a 7‑day stretch.

Call: In-house/telephone with 30-minute response; rare on-site needs, typically for stat TEE for dissection; most issues managed by phone from nearby lodging.

Requirements: Active Pennsylvania license (IMLC considered for those holding or already applied), board certified, ACLS and BLS, minimum 1 year of experience, remain within 30 minutes of the hospital.

Extras: APP/mid-level coverage available; travel and lodging covered (mileage or airfare, lodging, parking, rental car and fuel, ground transportation).

Trauma Level: II.

This assignment focuses on steady inpatient consultative work with cardiac diagnostics and procedures, supported by experienced APPs.
