Med Surg Float Pool RN

We have day and night shifts available on a busy Med Surg Labor Pool at a large acute care hospital in Albany, GA — just 175 miles from Atlanta, 88 miles from Tallahassee, and 134 miles from Shell Point Beach.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 12-hour days and nights, 6:45am start (day shifts)

• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Charting System: MEDITECH

• Orientation: 16 hours, floor specific

Note: Must live or reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify.

The Unit

This is a Labor Pool position, meaning you will float across multiple units based on need. Med Surg travelers float to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW. Flexibility is essential — candidates must be comfortable with changing assignments during the shift.

Staffing ratios:

• RN to patient: 1:6

• CNA support: 1:8 to 1:10 (pulling 1:1 and sitters possible)

• Charge Nurse on all units

Available resources:

• Telemetry monitoring across units

• Respiratory Therapy 24/7

• Pharmacy 24/7

• BIPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger vents available (CPAP/BIPAP at HS only)

• OB/Neonatologist in house

• No IV team, PICC available

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience

• At least 1 prior travel assignment required

• BLS certification required

• NIHSS certification required

• No BSN required

• Must be flexible with floating and shifting assignments

• Must meet the 75-mile radius rule

Interview Process

Candidates will complete a brief interview with a clinical RN. Notes and profile are sent to the client and confirmed by the staffing office within 20 minutes. There is no second interview.
