About the Clinician's Workday
Clinicians in this role will provide anesthesia services under a physician supervision model during day shifts at an operating room facility in Missouri. The schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts per week, with no call coverage required for this locum tenens assignment. The anesthesia team operates under a staffing model of 3.5 MDs and 7 CRNAs, with the MD providing supervision at 75% hands-on involvement. Board certification in Anesthesiology is required for all clinicians in this role. This opportunity offers a diverse case mix, including general surgery, robotic bariatric surgery, thoracic, GYN, urology, ENT, orthopedics, spine, podiatry, cataracts, GI, pulmonary procedures (bronchoscopies/EBUS), OB (C-sections and epidurals), and healthy pediatric dental and ENT cases for children over 6 months old. There are also occasional cases in the MRI suite, with EP cases in the cath lab anticipated in the future. CRNAs functioning as the charge provider will oversee daily OR operations, complete pre-op evaluations, provide OR support and breaks, perform nerve blocks and labor epidurals, assist with occasional ICU procedures, and manage PACU-related issues. Providers not serving as charge will work independently in their own ORs and must be comfortable and proficient practicing autonomously.
