1. How Ethesia uses text messages
Ethesia connects clinicians with the employers and facilities hiring them. When you give us your cell phone number and choose to turn on text notifications, we send you a text when something needs your attention on Ethesia — for example, when an employer reaches out to a clinician, when a clinician replies to an employer, or when there is new activity on your account. The idea is simple: help the right people reach each other quickly.
2. Who this applies to
Text notifications are available to both clinicians and employers who use Ethesia. Clinicians use them to hear about interest and replies from employers; employers use them to hear about interest and replies from clinicians. Either side can turn texts on or off at any time.
3. Choosing to receive texts
A cell phone number is required to create an Ethesia account — it is part of how members are put in contact with one another. Receiving automated text notifications from Ethesia is a separate choice and is entirely optional: you turn it on yourself, and you can use Ethesia without it.
When you create a free account at ethesia.com, the sign-up form includes a checkbox that is unchecked by default. You check it only if you want text notifications. The label and the disclosure shown next to it read:
Checkbox label (unchecked by default):
"Send me account updates by text and email."
Disclosure shown beside the checkbox:
"By checking this box you agree to receive automated text messages from Ethesia at the cell phone number you provided about activity on your Ethesia account: new job matches, job inquiry and message updates, and verification codes. Agreeing to texts is not required to use Ethesia. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help."
You can also turn text notifications on — or off — at any time from the Notification settings panel inside your account. The same disclosure appears beside those SMS toggles, with the opening words adapted to the control:
"By turning on SMS you agree to receive automated text messages from Ethesia at the cell phone number you provided about activity on your Ethesia account: new job matches, job inquiry and message updates, and verification codes. Agreeing to texts is not required to use Ethesia. Message frequency varies; message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help."
4. What we'll text you about
These are account and service notifications tied to activity on Ethesia. Examples of the texts we send:
- To a clinician: "Ethesia: New [Profession] role at [Company] - reply YES to express interest, STOP to opt out."
- To a clinician: "Ethesia: An employer is interested in your profile. Log in to view and reply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
- To an employer: "Ethesia: A clinician replied to your message. Log in to your account to respond. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
5. Frequency and cost
- Message frequency varies based on activity on your account.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your cell phone plan.
6. Stopping texts or getting help
- To stop: reply STOP (or OPTOUT, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any text. We will confirm, and you will not receive more texts unless you opt back in.
- For help: reply HELP or INFO, or email support@ethesia.com.
7. Your cell phone number and how it's shared
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The service providers that deliver our texts (such as our text-message provider, Twilio) handle your number only for that purpose.
Separately from text messaging: when you submit a job application, an inquiry or an “Express interest” form, or accept an employer's contact request, the contact details you entered — which may include your phone number — are sent, at your direction, to the employer who posted that job so they can respond to you. An employer who unlocks your profile in Talent Finder can likewise see the contact details on your profile. That is the service Ethesia provides; it is not marketing.
For full details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
