Ethesia

Text Message (SMS) Policy

1. How Ethesia uses text messages

Ethesia connects clinicians with the employers and facilities hiring them. When you give us your cell phone number and choose to turn on text notifications, we send you a text when something needs your attention on Ethesia — for example, when an employer reaches out to a clinician, when a clinician replies to an employer, or when there is new activity on your account. The idea is simple: help the right people reach each other quickly.

2. Who this applies to

Text notifications are available to both clinicians and employers who use Ethesia. Clinicians use them to hear about interest and replies from employers; employers use them to hear about interest and replies from clinicians. Either side can turn texts on or off at any time.

3. Choosing to receive texts

A cell phone number is required to create an Ethesia account — it is part of how members are put in contact with one another. Receiving automated text notifications from Ethesia is a separate choice and is entirely optional: you turn it on yourself, and you can use Ethesia without it.

When you create a free account at ethesia.com, the sign-up form includes a checkbox that is unchecked by default. You check it only if you want text notifications. The label and the disclosure shown next to it read:

Checkbox label (unchecked by default):

"Send me account updates by text and email."

Disclosure shown beside the checkbox:

"By checking this box you agree to receive automated account-notification text messages from Ethesia at the cell phone number you provided. Agreeing to texts is not required to use Ethesia. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help."

4. What we'll text you about

These are account and service notifications tied to activity on Ethesia. Examples of the texts we send:

5. Frequency and cost

6. Stopping texts or getting help

7. Your cell phone number and how it's shared

Ethesia is a place where clinicians and employers connect, so we want to be clear about this: when you and another member become connected on Ethesia — for example after an inquiry, a reply, or a match — we may share the contact details you provided, including your cell phone number, with that specific member so the two of you can reach each other. That is the core of what Ethesia does, and it happens because you chose to connect with that member. Those members are people using Ethesia, not outside companies.

What we do not do: we do not sell, rent, or give your cell phone number or your text-message consent to outside third parties or advertisers for their own marketing. Your number and your choice to receive texts are used to run Ethesia and to deliver the notifications you asked for, and are shared only with the service providers that help us send those texts (such as our text-message provider, Twilio).

For full details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
